How To Install, Update, Configure And Use Ad-Aware
This is a Step-By-Step guide to installing, updating and using Ad-Aware
Installing Lavasoft Ad-aware

First you will need to obtain the program itself if you click the link below you will
be able to get it from there.

Once you have the program you will need to install it. Double left click on the file
you have downloaded and a setup screen will appear like the Picture below, left Click
"NEXT".

You then get the next screen the same as the picture below. You will need to read
the Lisence agreement if you understand and are happy click the "I ACCEPT BOX" and then
"NEXT".

The next screen you get tells you where the program will be installed should you wish
to change this click on the "Browse" button if not click "NEXT"

The next screen will ask who you would like to use the program put a blob in the
appropriate option and then click "NEXT"

Now you are ready to install the program. Click "NEXT"

The screen below just shows the progress of the installation, you wont have to do
anything here.

This is the last screen of the actual installation if you untick the "PERFORM FULL
SYSTEM SCAN NOW" box and the "OPEN HELP FILE NOW" box. Leaving the "UPDATE NOW" box
ticked. As Below.
Updating Ad-Aware
You WILL need to be connected to the internet to carry out this task.

Firstly click "CHECK FOR UPDATES" situated in the bottom right of the program window
indicated in the picture below.

The next this you should see is a new window pop up like the one below.

You will now need to click the "CONNECT" button. Once you have done this provided you
are connected to the internet and there is a update available you will get the window
below.

Click "OK" And you will begin to download the update.

Once it has completed you then simply have to click "FINISH".
Configuring Ad-Aware
There are a couple of handy options that we use that will detect more Spyware and keep
your pc in a healthier condition.

First you will need to click on the "CONFIGURE" button which is indicated in the picture
below.

Once you have clicked the configure button you get another screen appear. Shown below.

You will then need to click on the "TWEAK" button which is indicated in the picture
below

Then click on the "SECURITY SETTINGS" drop down as indicated below.

Next click on the "RED X" next to "WRITE PROTECT FILES AFTER REPAIR". If done correctly
the "RED X" changes to a "GREEN TICK"

Next click on the "SCANNING" button as indicated below.

Now we need to click the "RED X" next to "SCAN WITIN ARCHIVES". As before if done
correctly should go from a "RED X" to a "GREEN TICK". Shown Below
Thats all we have to do for the configuration just Click the "PROCEED" button to save the
new settings.
